Pinocchio Commedia!
Directed by Scott R. Payne
Spring 2009
This season, the Schenectady Theater for Children brings one of the world's most famous and beloved tales magically to the stage with Pinocchio Commedia!
This is the classic story of a wooden marionette come to life. Despite guidance from the beautiful blue fairy, and the love of his father Gepetto, Pinocchio's curious spirit leads him into one wild adventure after another in his quest to become a "real little boy".
It is a storytelling triumph with a moral. Has popular culture ever produced a more unforgettable parable about the dangers of telling a lie? At a very deep level, all children want to become "grown-up", yet doubt that they can. A person is truly grown-up only when he can be honest with himself and with others, and when he can love unconditionally. Pinocchio is a parable for all generations.
Using Carlo Collodi's original masterwork as its source, this play is an enchanting and magical journey.....and that's no lie!
If you are an adult or a young adult who is free during the school day, and interested in any part of the production, please call:
